Bracken_paul_9_05 Paul Bracken '82 PhD, Professor of Management and of Political Science specializes in global business and international relations. He has written extensively on international business, defense, and intelligence, and his most recent book is The Second Nuclear Age (New York Times/Holt) published in November 2012. At Yale he teaches a large College class on Strategy, Technology, and War. In the School of Management he teaches the Global Corporation, which analyzes the multinational corporation's global strategy in the face of social, political, and technology changes. Professor Bracken serves as a consultant to large corporations and private equity funds, and serves on several advisory groups for the U.S. Government. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. The Princeton Review recently included Professor Bracken in their book The Best 300 Professors in the United States. Professor Bracken's wife, Nanette, an attorney in Ridgefield, Connecticut, will accompany this program.

Professor Bracken earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from Columbia University and his Ph.D. in operations research from Yale and has taught at Yale since 1985. He is excited to join alumni for this adventure. The countries near Arabia are undergoing extraordinary changes. We are most fortunate on this trip to see these changes for ourselves. Professor Bracken's lectures will focus political and social transitions, economic development, and new power arrangements in the region.
