Overview

Few experiences can match this exclusive, in-depth itinerary exploring the many facets of southern Africa, where nature's spectacle is at its most dramatic. You'll discover the region's rich history, diverse cultures, and incomparable "Big Five" game viewing. Follow Nelson Mandela's "Long Walk to Freedom" in South Africa, "the rainbow nation." A highlight of your journey is the three-night river safari aboard the Zambezi Queen on Namibia's legendary Chobe River. In four-wheel-drive safari vehicles, view game in the MalaMala Private Game Reserve, an extension of South Africa's renowned Kruger National Park, and in Botswana, a haven for nearly all of the southern African mammal species. Visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites, including one of the world's Seven Natural Wonders, Zimbabwe's spectacular Victoria Falls. You'll also enjoy naturalist-guided excursions by small watercraft, a unique alternative to traditional land safaris. Enjoy luxury accommodations in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, and MalaMala.
