Overview

Experience New Year's Eve in Cuba with its many festivities, music, fireworks, and traditions! Join Yale for a unique opportunity to see the Cuba of today and the natural beauty of the island. This 6-day program has been designed to unravel the richness of Cuban culture and allow the Yale group to meet local residents and professionals from all walks of contemporary Cuban life while exploring local landmarks that are significant to Cuba's heritage.

Take an in-depth look at Havana, the finest example of a Spanish colonial city in the Americas. Enjoy a full day excursion to the west to see the beautiful landscape and more rural area around Vinales. Enjoy dance rehearsals, choir performances, children training in circus skills, and a show by the youngest performing theater group in Cuba. Enjoy a traditional pig roast and even a chance to play baseball with kids. Bring your dancing shoes and participate in the salsa class. Visit the home of Ernest Hemingway which has been lovingly preserved by the Cuban Government. Most importantly, meet with many Cubans to view the richness of this splendid island and gain a firsthand perspective into daily life in Cuba.
